The Language and Speech unit is situated in the Faculty of Arts of the Radboud University Nijmegen where it participates in both education and research in the field of Language and Speech Technology.

The unit offers a one-year Master programme in Language and Speech Technology. Staff members from the Language and Speech unit also teach various courses in the Bachelor Linguistics programme and the Research Master program in Language and Communication.

The research of the unit addresses several topics in the field of Language and Speech Technology. The research program Linguistic Information Processing is one of the four programmes of the Centre for Language Studies (CLS), which is part of the Netherlands Graduate School of Linguistics (LOT). The Language and Speech unit has been and continues to be a partner in a large number of national and international collaborative projects, and participates in NOTaS, the Dutch organization of companies and research institutes in the field of language and speech technology.
